5) Manny Malhotra: Guy came back from a SERIOUS eye injury, one that could have ended his career, that's the definition of perseverence.

4) Chris Higgins: Mr. Everything, can play up and down the lineup, great penalty killer, great hands and can keep up with anyone.

3) Ryan Kesler: Even though he had a down year, he's still perhaps the 2nd best 2-way center in the game (behind Datsyuk).

2) Alex Burrows: In my mind, with all the big goals he's scored in the playoffs, he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Trevor Linden. From out of literally nowhere, he's risen to become a legend in a Canucks uniform.

1a) Roberto Luongo: Love him, hate him, for 7 years he's brought the Canucks from irrelevency to perennial contender. He's got every Canucks goalie record in the books, but he's now second fiddle to...

1b) Cory Schneider: Unlike Kevin Weekes, Cory IS the goalie of the future (and the now for that matter) and will likely eclipse Luongo as the greatest Canuck goalie of all-time before Eddie Lack or Joe Cannata replaces him. There's much to be thankful for, we have an EMBARRASSMENT of riches in the goalie department, enough that we can almost give our star goalie Luongo away and not suffer a drop in talent and use the assets to improve our team in other areas.

Too much. Ballard, Raymond and a 3rd should get it done. You are undervaluing Ballard’s potential.

pretty sure Tim Thomas is the best story in the NHL. All he went through in his career, ended with two Vezina's and a Cup ring.

So Cory's going to do all this in the next 5 years? I think Eddie is going to do the same thing to Cory as Cory did to Lu.

Possibly, it all depends on a number of factors.

Don't get me wrong. I hope you are right that he's going to the best of all time. It would be a great story. But he could easily be a good but not a great goalie. Then there is the goalie graveyard thing.

I find it hard to be that optimistic. I'm just crossing my fingers.

Beyond that, I like everybody for their contributions and some less (Booth, Kesler) for their personalities. Ohlund and Salo were longtime favourites of mine. Rome was a great underdog to cheer for. Rypien was the most exciting fighter since Gino. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of Schneider in net and in interviews. I'm prepared to be a big fan of his, but I'm taking a wait and see approach to just how good he'll be as a starter. I'm a big fan of what Luongo has done for the team, but I'm not optimistic about his future with the Canucks. I was a big fan of Hodgson as a Canuck; as a Sabre, I still like him as a player, but obviously somewhat less enthused about him. I'm looking forward to cheering for another young Canuck, whether it's Jensen or Kassian or whoever.

I'm with Micah in that I look forward to guys like Kassian, Jensen and several others developing into very good NHL'ers

As for all time favourites, my picks would be; Bure, Linden, Bertuzzi, Ronning & Ohlund

not trying to say burrows isn't a important player. and I'm not saying this to devalue Burrows. But you are undervaluing Linden with this statement.

he's not Linden. Linden was (and still is) a class act. Burrows needs a couple more clean years to wash away some of his moments.

There's a reason why a captain from an opposing team makes an effort to acknowledge a player like linden when he retires...he deserved the respect.

I agree with this statement 100%! I like Burrows as a player, but his on-ice antics piss me off sometimes. He's anything but a class act. He's got a long way to go before he becomes a Canucks legend on the scale of Trevor Linden.

Game 1 of the the LA seies this spring had Burrows chopping up lines of snow with his stick in front of the Kings bench pretending to snort coke as a taunt towards Richards and Carter. He`s never going to change IMO. People say that he has changed. Why open a series like this then? The series after the Bruins embarrassment even...

Maybe he was just pointing out to rink maintenance about the snow build up because of the heat.

The Sedin Twins and Sami Salo have been my favorites for the longest time; when Salo signed with Tampa I was really, really thrilled. Injury prone? Sure. Dependable when in the line-up? You bet. With so many young guys in the Lightning line-up on D (Hedman, Lee, Aulie, Barberio, Gudas etc.), Salo is arguably the perfect fit for us.

Top 5 Favorite Current Canucks:

1. Henrik Sedin
2. Daniel Sedin
3. Dan Hamhuis
4. Alex Burrows
5. Zack Kassian
